Wilkes field hockey falls at NCAAs

COLLEGEVILLE — Host Ursinus College scored four first half goals and added one insurance tally in the second frame on way to a 5-0 win over Wilkes in the first round of the NCAA Divsion III field hockey tournament on Wednesday.

Wilkes sees its postseason run come to an end at 8-12 overall record.

Alexis Reed finished with 14 saves in net for Wilkes and the team finishes the season winning the first Freedom Conference title since 1999 and first NCAA berth since the 1995 season.
