Suspects described
in UGI shooting
State police released descriptions Wednesday of three men and two vehicles
believed to have been involved in a shooting at a UGI substation.
A UGI Power Co. employee was injured Friday afternoon after someone fired a
high-powered rifle into the substation on Weavertown Road, said state police.
Police described the first vehicle as a possibly tan Nissan X-Terra, sport
utility vehicle. The driver and male passenger were described as 16 to 20
years old. No additional description was available.
A second vehicle was described by police as a repainted, blue-metallic,
early ’90s Oldsmobile Cutlass or Pontiac with fancy chrome wheels. The driver
was a white male, 6 feet tall, with blond, bushy hair.
Joseph Tutino, 52, was wounded in the neck by debris generated from the
bullet, which struck and damaged some equipment in the building.
Tutino went to the station after the unidentified shooters set off an
alarm. He told police he could hear shooting as pulled up, and bullets were
hitting the control building as he went inside.
No arrests have been made. Anyone who saw the cars or individuals in the
UGI substation area on Friday afternoon are urged to call state police at
