Aileen Regina Pawlak, 69, of Independence Boulevard, Liberty Hills, Hanover
Township, died Sunday in Hospice Community Care at Mercy Hospital.
   
Born June 24, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre , she was a daughter of the late John
J. and Regina (Chissler) McSweeney. She attended Hanover High School and
graduated from College Misericordia with a degree in Business Administration
in Secretarial Science and Elementary Education. She was a teacher in
Hackettstown, New Jersey and in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, where
she taught at Dodson, Hoyt and Dr. Kistler schools. After 35 years of
teaching, she retired in 1991. Aileen was a member of St. Aloysius Parish
since 1935.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Paul J. McCabe, on
April 18, 1974; second husband, John E. Parulski, on Jan. 12, 1998; sister,
Marilyn Regina Ziccardi; and step-daughter, Catherine Monaghan.
   
Surviving are her husband, Edward Pawlak; stepdaughters, Jeanette Miller of
Maryland; Marcie Lendacky of Wilkes-Barre; Eileen Goddin of Virginia; Mary
Pawlak of Lee Park; stepsons, Edward Pawlak of Florida; John Parulski of
Rochester, N.Y.; four step-grandchildren; brother John J. McSweeney of
Broomall, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews
   
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from McLaughlin Family Funeral
Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
in Saint John The Baptist Church, Larksville. Interment will be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery, Hanover Township.
