Stuttering support group holds inaugural 5K run/walk

The “Don’t Tell Me to Slow Down” 5K run/walk sponsored by the National Stuttering Association Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter was held on March 30 on the campus of Misericordia University. the event also featured refreshments, raffles and prizes and tghe group hoped it would also shed light on the speech problem. The chapter, which was founded in March 2013, is the first nationally-recognized stuttering support group in the area. There are 28 members, who range in age from 9 to 60-plus. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month in room 212 at the John J. Passan Hall, 100 Lake St., Dallas.
