According to an article published by Rolling Stone Country today, the Peach Music Festival, scheduled for Aug. 10 through 13 at the Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, has announced a tribute to late Allman Brothers Band founding members Gregg Allman and Butch Trucks.

Both Allman and Trucks, who contributed to the iconic Allman Brothers sound — a fusion of blues and Southern rock that has heavily influenced fellow musicians and the American musical landscape — died this year.

Commenced in 2012, the Peach was started by members of the Allman Brothers Band and has since featured performances by the band and various side projects and alumni groups like Les Brers (founded by Trucks and fellow Allmans drummer Jai Johanny “Jaimoe” Johanson) and Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band.

Billed as an “all-star” tribute to Allman and Trucks, and slated for the evening of Aug. 12, the performance, Rolling Stone Country reports, will “likely” feature former Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes — who is booked with his band Gov’t Mule — and Les Brers (also on the bill) members Jaimoe, Marc Quinones and Oteil Burbridge.

The finalized lineup for the tribute, however, has yet to be announced. What has been revealed are additions to the original lineup, which features headliners Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket and Joe Bonamassa.

Among the freshly announced artists are John Scofield — who will join Gov’t Mule & Friends — Greensky Bluegrass, Galactic, Keller Williams’ KWahtro and sons of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Cabinet — who will perform two sets.
