    Ellen “Dot” Rowan, 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died SaturdayBorn in the
Minooka Section of Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Theodore R. and
Beatrice C. Ludden Morgans.
   
She was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of
1941, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
   
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin James Sr.; brothers, Theodore
Morgans, Robert Morgans, and John Merkel.
   
Surviving are her husband, Martin, Rochester, N.Y.; daughters, Mary E.,
Fresno, Calif.; Carol Ann Roberts, Las Vegas; six grandchildren; brothers,
John J. Morgans, Rochester; Patrick J. Merkel, Oceanside, Calif.; sisters,
Mrs. Sam (Mary) Speciale, Rochester; Mrs. John (Ann-Juan) Moran, Mrs. Thomas
(Dolly) Snee, Mrs. Stanley (Dotty) Blazick, all of Wilkes-Barre.
   
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Corcoran Funeral Home,
20 S. Main St., Plains, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in
Blessed Sacrament Church, Miners Mills.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
