Adella Tobler

Adella V. “Ritzie” Tobler, formerly of Dupont, died Oct. 10 at University
Hospital, Tamarac, FloridaBorn in Dupont, she was a daughter of the late
Valentine and Ann Kret Ritzie.
She was a graduate of the Dupont Elementary School, Pittston High School
and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing.
During World War II, she served as a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse
Corps on the hospital ship Acadia. The ship made 32 crossings from the
European Theater of Operations, bringing wounded soldiers to the United
States.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1979; sisters, Mrs.
Bertha Kuchinski and Mrs. Mary Tibbett; brothers, Joseph, Karl and Andrew.
Surviving are sons, Robert, Waldorf, Md.; William, Lake Jackson, Texas;
James, Tamarac, Fla.; grandson, Stephen, New York; sister, Julia Ritzie,
Dupont.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Tamarac, Fla.
Interment was at Bushnell Military Cemetery, Florida.
