WILKES-BARRE- A Kingston man, in an apparent suicide attempt Tuesday night,
was prevented by police from jumping off the Market Street Bridge, police
said.
Wilkes-Barre police Sgt. Brian Lavan and officers Chuck Jensen and Steve
Bigus pulled the unidentified 33-year-old man from the outer ledge of the
bridge. They said the man told police he was going to commit suicide.
Police said the man was despondent and was taken to Wilkes-Barre General
Hospital for a psychiatric examination.
