(!NOCAT!)mailbag learn gun control’s vocabulary before we lose right to
speak out

If you’re like me, when you first started to follow the liberal national
press and politicians discussing the Second Amendment vs. gun control, you
didn’t fully understand some of the terms and phrases being used. It’s
critical that you have a good basic understanding of these terms and phrases.

The National Rifle Association: a group of law-abiding American citizens
who support and defend the Second Amendment. Members include doctors, lawyers,
police officers, politicians, school teachers, laborers, white- and
blue-collar workers from across this great nation. The advocacy arm of the NRA
is the NRA Institute for Legislative Action.

Demagogue: a leader who obtains power by means of impassioned appeals to
the emotions and prejudices of the populace. Demagoguery is the rhetoric or
practices of a demagogue.

Assault weapon: any weapon used in an assault, i.e, gun, knife, club, etc.

Assault rifle: as defined by the U.S. Army, a select-fire rifle chambered
for a semi-automatic firearm regardless of its cosmetic similarity to a true
assault rifle. The term is incorrect.

Saturday night special: an inexpensive handgun. The catchy phrase has
neither legal nor technical meaning.

“Safer for our children”: a phrase used by left-wing liberal gun-control
advocates.

“If we can save just one life”: see “safer for our children” and demagogue.
If this was the true goal of left-wing liberal gun control advocates, they
would be lobbying to ban automobiles and alcohol. Far more people are killed
annually by drunk drivers than guns.

“13 children killed each day”: see “safer for our children” and demagogue.
Their definition and daily total is everyone up to the age of 21 and includes
those killed by police in the commission of a crime- gang members killing each
other (no big loss there) and those killed by law-abiding citizens defending
themselves.

The devil is always in the details when dealing with left-wing liberal
gun-control fanatics. If the Clinton administration is serious about stopping
crime then why were only 13 of the 6,000 students caught with guns in schools
prosecuted?

Why were there no felons prosecuted for trying to buy guns in violation of
Brady Act in the past three years?

Why were there only 11 federal prosecutions in the past two years for
illegally providing guns to juveniles?

Why were there only 37 federal prosecutions in the past two years for straw
purchasers providing felons with firearms?

Wake up, America. Do it now before you find yourself and your loved ones
waking up behind the barbed-wire fences of the Peoples Socialist Republic of
America. Support and defend the Second Amendment.
