Here are the upcoming events at the library:
Downton Abbey Discussion Group: The library will hold a discussion group during the upcoming season of Downton Abbey. The first discussion will be held on Monday, Jan. 6 at 4 p.m. (the day after the season 4 premiere). The discussion group will meet every Monday and talk about what happened on Sunday night. Light refreshments will be served. The group will view the finale of season three and have a “catch up” discussion on Monday, Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. For more information, please call the library.
The Wyoming Free Library Crafty Kids Club: Have fun every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. discovering new crafting techniques learn to sew, and create unique gifts for family and friends for kids ages 7 though 12. Call the library to register.
Teen Writing Workshop: Kids in 4th through 8th grade are invited to attend our Teen Writing Workshop. The workshops will run from 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, Dec. 2, 9 and 16. Practice the elements of free-style writing, poetry, and writing short stories. At the end of the sessions, receive a booklet of all of the participants writing. Call the library to register.
LEGO Club: Meets every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to noon. Children of all ages welcome. The library will provide the LEGO sets. We will discuss the trip to see The LEGO movie in February.
LEGO Christmas Bonanza: Come and celebrate the holiday season LEGO style. Children of all ages can come and partake in crafts and food (with a LEGO theme). The event will be Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon. The bonanza will be in place of the regularly schedule LEGO Club.
Cookies and milk with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 1 p.m. Open to children of all ages.
Christmas card bonanza: Saturday, Dec. 21 from noon to 1 p.m. Decorate a Christmas card and make a candy cane sleigh. Open to children of all ages.

The Friends of the Library did it again, they created a gorgeous Holiday basket filled with everything you need and more for a great holiday season. Tickets are just $1 each and proceeds benefit library programming.
On Thursday, Dec. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. we are going to help you find “cash in the new year” through PA Unclaimed Property for PA residents. Reservations are required as space is limited. Call or email to reserve a spot.
On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the library is having their annual handmade gift fair. All crafts are handmade, a bake sale, book sale, scavenger hunt and reindeer food bar.
The Lego Club will be held every Monday at 4 p.m. No need to register, just come by for some fun.
The Grandparents support group is being held the fourth Monday of each month at noon.
A book called “Black Lung: The Discovery, Uses, and Stories of Anthracite Mining In Northeastern Pennsylvania” by John “Dick” Zborovian is on sale at the Pittston Memorial Library for $14.99 with a portion of the proceeds going back to the Library.
The Friends of the Pittston Library will be at Barnes and Noble on Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A portion of your purchase will go directly back to the library. They are also offering free gift warp for all your purchases.
Also, the Friends of the Pittston Library will be having the Holiday Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the basement of the library. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, hardcovers, soft covers, children books, DVDs and CDs will be available for sale. The books are shelved and categorized by the author’s last initial for easy availability.
