ALDI ribbon cutting

Following a renovation that began in June, ALDI’s Pittston store, located at 5000 North Township Blvd., held its grand reopening on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

The renovated store is part of the retailer’s ongoing initiative to remodel and expand existing ALDI stores nationwide. In addition to the Grand Reopening, the store will offer curbside pickup.

ALDI Center Valley Division Vice President Bob Grammer said, “While we can’t share the specific costs of a renovated store, we can let you know we’ve invested more than $5 billion in a multi-year, nationwide growth initiative. We’re remodelling our stores to ensure the design and experience match the high quality of our products.

“The updated Pittston store will feature open ceilings, natural lighting, environmentally friendly building materials and additional storage for even more fresh produce, meat and dairy.”

The updated store provides an improved layout and ample refrigeration to accommodate an expanded fresh and convenient food selection.

“Like all ALDI stores, the remodeled Pittston location still offers a streamlined shopping experience and low prices in every aisle, but customers will notice the elevated design,” a news released stated.

“We have invested in remodeling our stores to ensure the design and experience match the high quality of our products,” Grammer said. “With the updated Pittston store, shoppers will notice a new look with more fresh and convenient items at the reliably low prices ALDI fans rave about.”

Grammer said ALDI stores are designed for simplicity and efficiency. He said a typical store is approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space, making ALDI stores much easier to navigate than traditional grocery stores.

In addition, the retailer remains focused on ensuring stores are stocked with food and household essentials customers need, including healthy, convenient options and a robust selection of produce delivered fresh to stores daily.

Known as private-label pioneers, the ALDI business model is intentionally designed to offer customers high-quality products at unbeatable prices, every day. Now, more than ever, Grammer said access to affordable groceries is important, and the ALDI commitment to low prices is unwavering.
