Magisterial District Judge Fred A. Pierantoni, III has announced his candidacy for re-election as Magisterial District Judge 11-1-04.
The district includes the boroughs of Avoca, Dupont, Duryea, Hughestown, and the city of Pittston.
Pierantoni has cross-filed on the Democrat and Republican petitions. Pierantoni has been successfully elected as Magisterial District Judge on both party nominations in the Primary Election since 1991.
In his tenure, Judge Pierantoni has presided over more than 60,000 cases and his office has collected millions of dollars in fines and costs.
Judge Pierantoni previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Luzerne County and tried many cases to jury verdict, including murder and major felonies.
Judge Pierantoni serves as President of the Luzerne County Special Court Judges Association.
He has previously served as President of the state-wide Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania.
Pierantoni is a member of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania Ethics and Professionalism Committee.
He previously served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Minor Court Rules Committee and was a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Committee on the Study for Racial and Gender Bias in the Court System.
Pierantoni is a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Wilkes University, and Temple University of Law. Judge Pierantoni is proud to serve the residents of Pittston Area.
He has been humbled by their support and encouragement over the years.
Judge Pierantoni resides in Dupont with his wife, the former Donna McLarney, and sons, Freddie and Matt.
