FROM ROLLING VEHICLE

WYOMING — Six people were flung from a Ford Bronco at 11:30 p.m. Saturday
after the vehicle veered off Shoemaker Avenue, somersaulted six times and
struck two utility poles, police said.

Police said alcohol contributed to the incident, which was still under
investigation Sunday.
Operator George Salti, 22, Swoyersville, was in serious condition in
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Sunday night. Passenger Joseph Covert, 29,
Swoyersville, was in fair condition at the hospital. The other four passengers
suffered only minor injuries. None of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt,
police said.

According to police, the Bronco was headed south when it left the road.

Earlier Saturday, the group was at a bar on Shoemaker Avenue, where the
Bronco was ticketed for being parked on private property, police said.
