Greetings, fellow fantasy football enthusiasts. If you’re like me, you are either gearing up for a future playoff run, or you are counting down the weeks for the season to finally be over with. Luckily, because I am such a degenerate fantasy player, I have a shot at the playoffs in a couple leagues. But I am so close in the Fox Sports — The Game league.
Let’s face it, a lot of players have been real letdowns this year. And no one knows that better than I do, considering I was drubbed by a score of 156 to 104. With only two weeks left until our playoffs start, and barely holding onto a playoff spot, guys like Peyton Manning (two interceptions? Seriously?) and Maurice Jones-Drew are going to have to step it up even more. There is nothing like missing the playoffs by so much.
I wanted to take a time out from writing this week and feature one of our more popular columns written by Mike Woellert over at FantasyFootball.com called “Week 12 Chop Blocks.”
How does Carson Palmer only muster 110 yards against a defense that lost Shaun Rogers, Kamerion Wimbley and Brodney Pool?
You know your run defense is decimated when Larry Johnson records his first 100-yard game since Week 16 … .of the 2008 season.
Fred Jackson looks like he has the full confidence of Perry Fewell. Looks like he’ll be the every-down running back for the rest of the season.
Terrell Owens looks like he’s on the Ryan Fitzpatrick bandwagon. I wonder how long it’ll be before he gets off and throws this guy under the bus?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Eli Manning is shut down for the remainder of the year. He’s definitely making his foot worse.
Justin Forsett owners might be riding him all the way to their fantasy championships this year. As long as Julius Jones doesn’t get in the way.
Another 28 touches for Steven Jackson in Week 12. If you were able to get this guy late in your drafts, you definitely got a steal (especially now that he’s scoring).
Turnovers are killing the Texans’ chances at a playoff spot.
It would not surprise me to see a 50/50 split in carries between Chris Brown and Steve Slaton the rest of the season (Slaton got 10 carries to Brown’s 11).
The Titans are looking like they could come out of nowhere and make the playoffs. With the way the Titans played earlier in the year, who would have thought the Week 13 matchup between the Colts would actually mean something?
Vince Young looks like he’s finally emerging into an NFL-caliber QB. He would definitely get my vote for 2009 Comeback Player of the Year
I don’t think a QB controversy is simmering in Atlanta. Chris Redman came in did his job as the backup QB.
Looks like Quincy Black, Barrett Ruud and Geno Hayes are happy with the re-installation of the Tampa-2
Chris Johnson is my No. 1 overall pick in 2010
Brett Favre would get my vote for the MVP award with Peyton Manning and Drew Brees not too far behind. Chris Johnson should get some consideration, but what about Young?
Percy Harvin is definitely emerging as the offensive rookie of the year favorite
Matt Roth sure made an immediate impact for the Browns’ defense. After being claimed off waivers on Thursday, he came in had himself a sack and seven total tackles
Even though he threw two picks, there isn’t anyone more dialed in than Peyton Manning.
Watch out for the Colts and Saints to start resting their players in Week 15 or 16.
Larry Fitzgerald owners are hoping for a speedy recovery for Kurt Warner.
Jon Beason with a huge Week 12 performance with 17 total tackles and a fumble recovery. Look for him to dominate the rest of the season with the LB corps decimated by injuries
Dennis Dixon didn’t look horrible in Week 12. He definitely kept Pittsburgh within reach and stood up to the Ravens aggressive defense.
