Johnny Pashinski caught and released this enormous largemouth bass while fishing last week at the Ceasetown Reservoir in Plymouth Township. Pashinski, 10, was fishing with his stepfather, Tom Bralczyk, who was teaching him how to fish hoping he would get interested in the sport. After fishing with rubber worms and having no luck, Bralczyk switched to a black/blue jig on a black swim bait and on Pashinksi’s second cast he hooked the bass. Bralczyk said he knew it was big when he heard the drag screaming on Pashinski’s reel. The bass weighed over seven pounds and Pashinski released back into the reservoir.

The experience hooked Pashinski on fishing, and now he’s looking forward to competing in this summer’s Wednesday night bass tournament at Harveys Lake.
