The Pittsburgh reassigned forward Andrew Ebbett and defenseman Simon Despres to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday, while the AHL club loaned forwards Chris Minella and Denver Manderson to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Pittsburgh also reassigned forward Beau Bennett to Wheeling in move that was likely procedural, and sent defenseman Derrick Pouliot to his junior team in the Western Hockey League. Pittsburgh also recalled defenseman Harrison Ruopp from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Manderson tallied a goal and an assist in three preseason games, while Minella also dressed in three contests for the Penguins.

Also on Monday, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton released from their try-out agreements: forwards Kyle Fletcher, Chaz Johnson, Patrick McGrath, Carter Rowney, C.J. Severyn, Cody Sylvester and Scott Zurevinksi; defensemen Barry Goers, Mike Ratchuk, Clark Seymour and Alex Velischek and goaltender Andy Chiodo.

The Penguins active roster currently stands at 27 players: 15 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins open the 2013-14 regular season in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
