Rita Gedrich

Rita Gedrich, of Vine Street, Avoca, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital,
Scranton, following an illnessBorn in Moosic, she was a daughter of the
late Martin and Mary Ann Mullarkey Allen.
She was a retired employee of Topps Chewing Gum, Duryea.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Avoca.
She was a member of the Avoca Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. in June.
Surviving are sons, Fred Jr., Annandale, Va.; Richard, Pass Christian,
Miss.; daughters, Mrs. Marita Shearer, Avoca; Mrs. Patricia Matthews,
Pittston; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday from Austin F. O’Malley III Funeral
Home, 728 Main St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in
Saints Peter and Paul Church, Avoca.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Moosic.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Sunday.
