Luck, fate and hard work

On a chilly Nov. 14, 1932, an 18-year-old Walter Letanski was sent home from work at Cutler’s Hardware store in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre due to an illness. His boss, Peter Cutler, approved the early dismissal immediately.
