Frank Piechota, of Dupont, died July 13, 2010, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Casey) Piechota, living at home.

Born May 25, 1925, in Dupont, he was a son of the late Marcella (Redek) Piechota and John Piechota. He was formerly employed by the Ford Motor Co., retiring after 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and Germany, earning three Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Polish American Club and V.F.W. Post 4909 of Dupont.

Also preceding him in death were a brother, Martin; and sisters Mary Towardowski and Julie Krakowski.

Also surviving are daughters Donna Piechota, Dupont, and Deborah Igoe, Buffalo, NY; son Dr. Darren Piechota, Philadelphia; grandchildren Trevor Igoe and Kyla Handley.

Funeral services were held July 16 from the Graziano Funeral Home, Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church, Dupont. Interment parish cemetery.
