John F. Brookman, 41, of Wright Township, Mountain Top, died Friday at
Community Medical Center, Scranton, from injuries suffered in an automobile
accident.
    Born June 25, 1962, in Pulaski, Va., he was a son of Ann (Jacobson)
Brookman and the late Willie G. Brookman. He was educated in Indianapolis
schools and was a 1980 graduate of Washington High School. He was a 1993
graduate of the ITT Technical Institute, Indianapolis, receiving a degree in
electronics. He was employed by Ultra Tech Stepper Co., San Jose, Calif. He
worked at Fairchild Semiconductor for several years. He was lead singer for
4-Play, a local band.
   
He was preceded in death by brothers, William and Robert Eanes; and Gene
and George Brookman.
   
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, the former Paula Fitzwater; daughter,
Andrea, at home; sisters, Sarah Parks, Tempe, Ariz.; Ruth Vollrath and Juanita
Gay Sparks, Indianapolis; Faye Hoffman, New Bern, Va.; and brother, Wayne
Brookman, Dublin, Va.
   
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Desiderio Funeral Home
Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., state Route 309, Mountain Top, with interment at
Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski, Va.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes
Association.
