Wyoming Area School District will hold its fifth annual scholarship information night at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in the high school library (note change of location). The program will last one hour. A question and answer period will follow.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce parents and students to an updated scholarship application which will be used for most of the scholarships offered through the school and donated by individuals, families, civic organizations, school organizations . to graduating seniors. A student has to complete only one application to apply for multiple scholarships.

This format will enable students and parents to access information regarding scholarships online as well as being able to complete the application on line. The student will then download a copy and submit it to the guidance department which will then submit it to individual groups for judging and selection. Final selection for these awards is made by the individual scholarship committees.

Members of the guidance department will be present as will donors, parents and winners who will talk about their experiences and offer information as to how to develop a solid application.

Any family, individual, business or civic organization contemplating donating a scholarship is also invited to attend this meeting.

The scholarship celebration will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in the high school cafeteria.


There will be an Act 80/Early Dismissal on Wednesday, Dec. 11 and Thursday, Dec. 12. Secondary Center students at 11:02 a.m. and elementary students at noon. Report card and parent/teacher conferences will be held in the afternoon of each of those days.

Report cards

Parents/guardians may pick up student report cards onWednesday, Dec. 11 and Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Secondary Center between 11:40 a.m. and 2:29 p.m. Elementary schools will have pickup from 12:40 to 3:20 p.m. Teachers will be available during the afternono for the conferences.

Per district policy, parents must pick up report cards. No report cards will be sent home with students. The above schedule is for all schools in the district.
