State police say Vincent Catrone of Fern Glen started abusing the girl when she was 10.

BLACK CREEK TWP. – A man was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexually abusing a teenage girl for nearly eight years.
Vincent A. Catrone, 37, of Fern Glen in Black Creek Township, is charged with first- and second-degree counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to court records.
Catrone is accused of sexually abusing the girl since she was 10 years old, the complaint states. The alleged abuse began sometime in 2000 and continued until last month.
The Times Leader does not identify victims of alleged sexual assaults.
According to an affidavit filed by state police at Hazleton:
On Oct. 17, the victim , who is now 17, reported she was being abused, with the most recent incident occurring on Oct. 2.
The victim said she was 10 years old when Catrone began rubbing her inappropriately. When the victim turned 13, the abuse escalated – physically and verbally, the complaint states.
Catrone allegedly threatened to kill her and her family, or himself, if she told anyone, according to the complaint.
The victim told police the first time Catrone forced her to have sexual intercourse was when she was 14. The abuse occurred about once a month until last month, the victim said.
On Oct. 2, Catrone called the victim and said he needed to change the oil in her car. When she arrived at his home, Catrone forced her to perform oral sex on him and gave the victim $20, the criminal complaint states.
Catrone was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Daniel O’Donnell in Sugarloaf Township and taken to Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 20 at Central Court.
