WILLIAMSBURG, VA — The Stripes & Strikes 12u Softball Team finished 17th of 37 teams at the NSA World Series this week.

Aleah Kost was the leading hitter at .625 (10 for 16) driving in a team-high seven runs. S&S finished the season with a 43-11 record as PA State runner-up. Other top hitters for the week included: Samantha Kern (.500, 8 for 16), Marissa Trivelpiece (.471, 8 for 17), Tiana Treon (.467, 7 for 17) and Hannah Krall (.462, 6 for 13).

Stripes & Strikes 6, Manassas Blaze, VA 5

Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh with two outs and a runner on, Aleah Kost drilled a game-winning 2-run home run. Marissa Trivelpiece was the winning pitcher, allowing just four hits. Samantha Kern and Trivelpiece each singled twice, while Treon doubled and Hannah Krall singled.

Stripes & Strikes 10, Ohio Legends 0

Tiana Treon fired a 4-hit shutout and added an RBI-single. Aleah Kost singled and doubled to drive in three runs. Hannah Krall singled twice, while Olivia Wolk, Natalie Tihansky and Samantha Kern each singled.

Thunder Bay, MD 6, Stripes & Strikes 5

Aleah Kost went 3 for 3 and stole three bases in the defeat. Marissa Trivelpiece chipped in a double and single. Tiana Treon homered and singled. Samantha Kern drove in two runs with two singles, while Christian Shappert singled and stole three bases. Thunder Bay erased a 5-1 deficit, winning in the bottom of the seventh on a throwing error.

Stripes & Strikes 6, Hanover Hornets, DE 5

S&S built a 6-3 lead, then escaped a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh for the victory. Marissa Trivelpiece paced the offense with a double and single, while Hannah Krall and Aleah Kost each singled twice. Kaitln Peters lined a 2-run single, while Julia Mrochko and Tiana Treon each added a single. Treon was the winning pitcher.

James River Lazers 3, Stripes & Strikes 2

Trailing 3-0 entering the seventh inning, S&S rallied for two runs, but left two runners stranded. Aleah Kost doubled and singled to drive in a run, while Marissa Trivelpiece and Tiana Treon singled twice. Julie Mrochko recorded a triple, while Sam Kern, Hannah Krall and Christian Shappert each singled once.



Havoc (IN) 11, Stripes & Strikes 14U 3

S&S drew first blood taking an early lead, but could not hold on losing to the World Series runners-up, Havoc (IN) in the first round of the NSA Eastern World Series in Williamsburg, VA last week.

Taylor Kost and Maddy Matsago led the offense with two singles apiece. Cortney Hoffman, Taylar Donner, Rebecca Rossi, Jada Schellhammer, all added a single.

Stripes & Strikes 10, Lady Pilots (VA) 2

Mady Heller and Taylor Kost went 3 for 3 and 4 for 4, respectively, scattering a combined seven singles in the win. Hope Kinney punched a double and two singles, Courtney Hoffman had three singles, Rebecca Rossi and Cailyn Joseph doubled and singled and Jada Schellhammer singled twice. Taylar Donner singled for S&S.

Crossfire (IN) 12, Stripes & Strikes 5

An inning of hits hurt the S&S team when they could not catch up with the hot bats of the eventual third-place finishers, Crossfire.

Rebecca Rossi and Jada Schellhammer recorded two singles apiece, Mady Heller doubled and Taylor Kost, Cailyn Joseph, Courtney Hoffman and Maddy Matsago all singled.

Bombers (OH) 7, Stripes & Strikes 4

Brooke Zellner forced a pass ball to start a scoring rally, but S&S came up short to the Bomber offense.

Hope Kinney doubled, Cailyn Joseph and Rebecca Rossi had two singles each. Courtney Hoffman, Taylor Kost, Maddy Matsago all singled.
