Love, Valentine’s Day and affairs

Love, Valentine’s Day and affairs of the heart were the themes for three events in Northeastern Pennsylvania the week before Feb. 14. The Big Band Society of NEPA held a Valentine’s Day Dance on Friday at Genetti’s in Wilkes-Barre. The inaugural Northeastern Pennsylvania Heart Ball, themed “an Evening at the Oscars,” went off Saturday at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township to aid the battle against heart disease and stroke. Meanwhile, a Valentine’s Day Dinner Dance fundraiser Friday at the Holiday Inn benefited the Phoenix Performing Arts Center.
