KINGSTON – Two Wyoming County men were arrested on cocaine and ecstasy trafficking charges on Friday.

Police said Michael Sembrot, 26, and Cody Ritz, 19, both of Lake Winola, sold the drugs to undercover officers on West Market Street in Kingston.

Both men were transported to Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment on drug delivery and possession charges.

Detectives of the Kingston Narcotics Unit working as members of the county’s Drug Task Force and state Office of Attorney General set up a controlled purchase of 7 1/2 grams of cocaine and 50 ecstasy tablets.

Officers watched as Ritz and Sembrot arrived at West Market Street location and met with another person, police said.

Police said they moved in and took the duo into custody.

During a search of both men, police said they recovered cash, cell phones, cocaine and ecstasy. Police said the drugs had a street value of $1,750 cash.

Ritz faces additional charges for allegedly selling 10 ecstasy tablets in the same location Thursday, police said.

Friday’s drug transactions occurred within 1,000 feet of a school, which increases the penalties.
