Sadie Ann Coyne and Sean Patrick O’Day were united in marriage Sept. 14, 2013, at St. Ann’s Basilica Parish, Scranton. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. James Price.

The bride is the daughter of Brian and Joanne Coyne, Scranton. She is the granddaughter of John R. Coyne, Scranton; the late Helen M. Coyne; and the late John B. and Rosemarie Mackarey, West Scranton.

The groom is the son of Dennis and Kathleen O’Day, Edwardsville. He is the grandson of James A. O’Day Sr.; the late Dorothy C. O’Day; and the late Joseph N. and Rita A. Riebel.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Rosemarie and Brianna Coyne, maids of honor, and bridesmaids Katrina Berish, sister of the groom; Natasha Lee, cousin of the bride; Leigh Magnotta, cousin of the bride; and longtime friends of the bride, Shalane Vitris, Melissa Davies and Danielle Sheerin.

Nicholas Riebel, cousin of the groom, and Nicholas Howatch, longtime friend of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Gabriel Coyne, brother of the bride; Michael Berish, brother-in-law of the groom; and longtime friends Brandon Rice, James Haggerty, Gary Wilson and Daniel Bagosian.

Music for the ceremony was provided by cousins of the bride Julie Ferguson, vocals, and Kelly Butler, piano, along with the organist for St. Ann’s Basilica, Helen Cummings. The reception was held at Montdale Country Club, Jermyn.

The bride was honored at a bridal shower hosted by her godmother, Maria Mackarey, and her bridal party at the Greenridge Country Club.

Sadie Ann is a 2007 graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation and human services from Pennsylvania State University. She is a caseworker for Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services.

Sean is a 2006 graduate of the former Bishop O’Reilly High School. He earned an associate’s degree in exercise science from Luzerne County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in health and human services from Marywood University. He is employed at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

The couple went to Aruba on their honeymoon in September. They reside in Scranton.
