Allen and Catherine were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Ramada Hotel, Wilkes-Barre, with a service performed by the bride’s sister Mrs. Wendy Newton.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sandra Raughley and the late Albert Raughley, both of Plymouth. She is the granddaughter of the late Anna and Arthur Nesbitt.
The groom is the son of the late Allen and Raylean Church, both of Philadelphia. He is the grandson of the late Raymond and Regina McHugh, Wilkes-Barre. He is also the nephew of Mrs. Joan Chulvick, who is a great influence in his life.
The bride was given away in marriage by her mother. Lisa Shumbris was her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Jo Raughley, sister of the bride, and Kaylee Malloy, daughter of the bride. Larissa Badman, the couple’s goddaughter, was their flower girl.
The groom chose Mathew Shumbris as his best man. They were joined by the bride’s son Joseph Malloy and Thomas Roper and Richard Walko, both friends of the groom, as groomsmen. Mason Shumbris was the ring bearer.
A beautiful outdoor shower was hosted by the mother of the bride, the maid of honor and Mrs. Bonnie Osman, the bride’s godmother, at the home of Mrs. Osman.
The bride is a 1997 graduate of West Side Area Vocational-Technical School, Pringle. She is employed at Lowes Home Centers, Edwardsville, and Gerrity’s Supermarket, Luzerne.
The groom is a valued employee of Gerrity’s, Luzerne.
The couple honeymooned in Ocean City, Md. They reside in Kingston.
