Amanda Jayne Carey and Thomas Katechis were united in marriage on Aug. 22, 2014, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in New Rochelle, New York. Father Sylvester Berberis presided over the ceremony.

A reception for family and friends followed at The Glen Island Harbour Club, New Rochelle.

The bride is the daughter of Rita and James Tubridy, Wyoming, and Frank Carey, Wilkes-Barre. She is the granddaughter of the late Irene and Vincent Orloski, Dupont; the late Jane and Frank Carey, Wilkes-Barre; and Philomena Tubridy, Wyoming.

Amanda is a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Exeter, and Temple University, Philadelphia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre.

The groom is the son of Maria and Kyriakos Katechis, White Plains, New York. He is the grandson of Aggeliki Malitsis and the late Sophocles Malitsis, Greece, and Aggelina and Thomas Katechis, Greece.

Thomas is a graduate of Bronx Science, New York City, and Fordham University, New York City, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

An engagement party, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held at Raffina, New York City. The couple was also honored with a bridal shower at St. Maria Goretti’s, Laflin, and a post-wedding breakfast, hosted by the parents of the bride.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Katechis enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon in Aruba and reside in Westchester, New York.
