John Cost and Robin Rutherford were married on the 18th Street beach in Ocean City, N.J., on June 2, 2012, by Jay Gillian, the mayor of Ocean City.
John Cost is the son of the late Edward and Anne Cost, who were buried out at sea at the 18th street beach where the couple was married.
Robin Rutherford is the daughter of Joyce Rutherford and the late Richard Rutherford.
The groom’s daughters, Alyssa, Carrie and Alexandra, were in attendance in the dresses that Carrie made for the occasion.
The bride’s sister, Amy Kyllonen, and her husband, John, sang and played the guitar to the song, “Boy, you make me smile.” Their child, Eric, was the ring bearer.
The bride’s mother made the carrot cake and Mike Pleger, Carrie’s boyfriend, was the photographer. Also in attendance were Nick Byrne, Alyssa’s boyfriend, and Billy Jean, friend of Alexandra.
A reception was held on the deck of the Deaville Inn, Strathmere, N.J.
The honeymoon was celebrated in New Orleans, courtesy of the bride’s uncle, Robert Rutherford and his wife, Joyce.
The groom is co-owner of Eagle Supply of Northeast Pennsylvania.
The bride is a financial reconciliation analyst at Sallie Mae, owner of Adoption Requests, and training chairman of the Wilkes-Barre Dog Training Club.
The couple resides in Mountain Top with their two dogs.
