Carolyn Leighton Drosey and Paul Anthony Richelmi were united in marriage on Aug. 25, 2012, in St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. The ceremony was performed by Monsignor Joseph Rauscher and Father Paul Wolensky of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Edwardsville, Pa.
The bride is the daughter of Attorney and Mrs. Victor and Kathleen Drosey, Hanover Township. She is the granddaughter of the late Carl and Mercedes Leighton, Wilkes-Barre, and Victor and Elizabeth Drosey, Mountain Top.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Mary Richelmi, Wilkes-Barre. He is the grandson of the late Michael and Anna Kopacz, Hanover Township, and the late Anthony and Emma Richelmi, Wyoming.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Kathleen Drosey, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kayla Richelmi, sister of the groom, and Paula Vinsko, Heather Vinsko and Laura Breakstone, all cousins of the bride. Mercedes and Margaret Marie Vinsko, cousins of the bride, served as junior bridesmaid and flower girl.
The groom chose his brother, Matthew Richelmi, as best man. Groomsmen were Attorney William Vinsko Jr. and Attorney Brian Vinsko, cousins of the bride, and Michael Mattern, Attorney Stephen Vaughn and Dr. Lenny Lucas, all friends of the groom. Will Vinsko, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Readings were given by Cal Leighton, Bill and Joan Vinsko, aunt and uncles of the bride, and Michaelene Feschak, aunt of the groom. Offertory gifts were presented by Paul and Stacy Shatlock, friends of the groom.
The bride and groom were honored at an engagement party hosted by the bride’s godparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Vinsko, at their home in Wilkes-Barre.
The bride was honored at a bridal shower hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom and her attendants at the home of Attorney and Mrs. William Vinsko Jr. The bride was also honored at a bridal luncheon, hosted by her late grandmother, Mercedes Leighton, at the Westmoreland Club. The couple was also honored at a prenuptial gathering at the home of Attorney and Mrs. William Vinsko Jr., Wilkes-Barre.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. An evening cocktail hour and reception was held at The Highlands at Newberry Estate hosted by the parents of the bride.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2005 graduate of King’s College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is a former radio personality on Froggy 101 and is employed by Sunflower Systems working as a consultant in Washington, D.C.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School and a 2004 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh Law School in 2007. He is a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, currently stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
The couple honeymooned in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. They reside in Washington, D.C.
