J. Patrick Dougherty and Zoey Sless-Kitain were united in marriage on April 20, 2013, at Bartram’s Garden in Philadelphia. The couple exchanged vows in the flower garden of the historic 1728 stone home. The spring colors of the botanic garden, the oldest surviving in North America, provided a beautiful setting for the ceremony.

The bride is a producer at BHLDN, a sister brand of Anthropologie, where she produces photography shoots for the Philadelphia-based retailer. Zoey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in visual studies with a concentration in photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.

She is the daughter of Robert Sless, Arlington, Va., and Stephanie Kitain, Merion Station, Pa., and step-daughter of Fred Blum, also of Merion Station.

The groom leads the global R&D Programme Management Office for GlaxoSmithKline, a London-based pharmaceutical company. Patrick was awarded dual degrees in chemistry and honors studies from Villanova University, an MSc in technology management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and an Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He is the son of Dr. John and Sterling Dougherty, Mountain Top.

Participants in the ceremony included Areif Sless-Kitain, twin brother of the bride; Amy Blum, step-sister of the bride; and Kate Dougherty Bolton and Sarah Dougherty Gunel, sisters of the groom.

Parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Bistrot La Minette, Philadelphia, and a late evening cocktail party at Hotel Sofitel, Philadelphia. Following the garden ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn followed by an evening of dinner and dancing.

The couple honeymooned in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. They reside in the Walnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia.
