Christina Muriel Decker and William Eugene Lavan were united in marriage Aug. 11, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, by Father Hanna Karam.
The bride is the daughter of Muriel Decker, Hanover Township, and the late Victor Decker. She is the granddaughter of Amy George and the late Michael George and the late Genevieve and Victor Decker.
The groom is the son of William and Doreen Lavan, Wilkes-Barre. He is the grandson on William and Madeline Lavan and the late Gene and Doris Marinelli.
The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She chose her sister, Amy Kamor, as her matron of honor and sister, Jennifer Decker, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsi West, cousin of the bride, and Bryn Healey, Chanel Roughsedge, Laura Snyder, Christine Gavlick, Amanda Petersen, Jackie Young, April Campas and Nicole Spar, friends of the bride.
The groom chose his friend, Jaron George, as his best man. Groomsmen were Brian Lavan and Jimmy Britt, cousins of the groom, and Adam Kamor, Pete Monka, Jared Carlo, Mickey Dudish, Mike Bevilacqua, Bryan Healey, Corry Hanson and Mark Wilson, friends of the groom.
Alexis Kamor, niece of the bride, and Billy Elias, cousin of the bride, were chosen as flower girl and ring bearer.
Scripture reading was given by Sherri Williamson, friend of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Jordan Britt, Angela Marinelli and Brianna DiMaggio, cousins of the groom.
An evening reception was held at the Woodlands Inn and Resort with entertainment by Frankie Carl Productions. A wedding rehearsal was hosted by the parents of the groom at Uptown II. A bridal shower was held at The Gallery at Pierce Street by mothers of the bride and groom. The bride and groom were honored with an engagement party hosted by Amy and Adam Kamor.
The couple honeymooned at the Riu Palace in Aruba. They reside in Wilkes-Barre.
