The first game of Saturday's doubleheader was won by the RailRiders 5-3. At press time, the second game was not complete.
RailRiders at the plate: Corban Joseph, Luke Murton, Thomas Neal and Bobby Wilson all had two hits. Joseph and Wilson each hit their second home runs of the season.
RailRiders on the mound: Chien-Ming Wang pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings striking out three. He didn't walk any and only gave up six hits. Preston Claiborne pitched the final 1 2/3 allowing three runs on five hits.
Play of the Game: With one out in the top of the seventh and the possible tying run on base, Syracuse's Mike Costanzo hit a flyball to shallow center field. RailRiders' centerfielder Melky Mesa charged and made a diving catch. He then threw Gil Velazquez covering second to complete the double play.
Transactions: On Friday, the RailRiders activated Chien-Ming Wang from the disabled list. To make room RHP Graham Stoneburner was assigned to Double-A Trenton.
