The RailRiders snapped Pawtucket’s five-game winning streak with a 4-1 win Friday night at PNC Field, holding off a late Pawtucket rally for the victory.

RailRiders at the plate: With a second inning double, Ronnier Mustelier extended his hitting streak to 11 games. He finished with two hits and a run scored in four at-bats. Brent Lillibridge was 2 for 3 for the RailRiders, while Randy Ruiz went 2 for 4. J.R. Murphy had a two-run single and Corey Patterson brought in a run with a single.

RailRiders on the mound: Caleb Cotham was brilliant once again tossing 6 1-3 scoreless innings extending his scoreless inning streak to 17 1-3. He allowed seven hits, struck out four and walked just one to net the win and improve to 6-5. Dellin Betances relieved Cotham in the seventh getting the next seven outs with six of them being punch-outs. He got in trouble in the ninth. After recording the first two outs, he allowed a pair of batters to reach. Jim Miller inherited the runners and allowed one to score before getting the final out for his sixth save of the season.

Captain RailRider: Rehabbing Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter finished the outing 0 for 3 with a strikeout and a walk. But a heads up play in the seventh inning while on third base accounted for a RailRider run when he scored on a wild pitch that didn’t get too far away from the Pawtucket catcher.
