Wanda Hodakowski, 91, of Orange, Pa., passed away Monday, August 30, 2010, at her home.
She was born July 13, 1919 in Hanover Township, a daughter of the late John and Mary Shoras Hodakowski. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton.
A longtime resident of Orange, Wanda spent decades taking care of farm and flowers, pets and people. Not only the grieving family, but friends near and far knew her as “Aunt Wanda” and enjoyed her thoughtfulness and generosity. She never forgot a birthday; she baked an apple pie for others the week before her death.
She is deeply mourned by, and will be sorely missed by, her nephew, Bill Hodakowski, and wife Judy; her niece, Pat Hinchey and husband Ed; her great-nephews, Billy Hodakowski and wife Casey, and E.M. Hinchey; her great-nieces, Christine Hodakowski and Shawna Mulcahy and husband Brian; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Jarred Rosengrant; Kaitlyn, Mackenzie and Zachary Hodakowski.
A funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Church. Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
