W ILLIAM AMESBURY, a Wilkes-Barre native, would make a fine addition to the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.
A graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, in Michigan, he currently serves as a magisterial district judge. Amesbury, 61, previously worked in the social services field, which we believe would be a big asset when evaluating certain defendants and determining sentences.
A Democrat, Amesbury was the top vote-getter in the primary election and has strong support in the city.
We hope Gov. Ed Rendell and his staffers monitor the county’s judicial election in November and appoint the third-place finisher to a seat on the county bench, no matter who he, or she, is.

Greta idea! How to get the Gov to do it? He'll sit on his duff for months.
