Wilkes-Barre Twp. offering summer camps

WILKES-BARRE TWP.: Wilkes-Barre Township Settlement Camp girls and boys day- and overnight- camp applications are available for the rustic Wilkes-Barre Township Settlement Camp, Thornhurst.

The boys overnight camp will be held 10 a.m., July 10, through 9 a.m., July 15. Girls overnight camp will be held 10 a.m., July 16, through 9 a.m., July 21. The overnight camp is for boys and girls (regardless where they live) from 6- to 13- years of age.

Cost is $175 for township residents and $200 for non-residents per week. If your child would like to be assigned to the same cabin with their friend, please fill in that particular section of the application when registering.

Children are bused daily to the boys and girls next-day-camp that will be held July 24- through 28, and July 31- through Aug. 4. Children are picked up starting at 8 a.m. at township playgrounds and the municipal building, and will leave the camp at 2 p.m. to be picked up at the same location they were picked up from. Children must be at least 6- years old and are required to bring their own lunch. Cost of attendance for the day camp is $55 per week.

Parents must register and make payment for their child no later than the Thursday prior to the week their child will be attending day- or overnight- camping.

Applications for day camp and overnight camping are available 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the municipal building.
