A group of concerned citizens have tried on a regular basis to meet with U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Zionsville, in Wilkes-Barre — usually in small groups, sometimes individually.

We have also requested town-hall style meetings, but he is not available. Several times on Tuesdays, with the group “Tuesdays with Toomey,” we have met with office staffers to air concerns about the current administration and proposed legislation.

Within a few days we receive a polite form letter which does not address any of the concerns. It is becoming increasingly difficult to even meet with the staff.

They are busy, not in the office, requiring paper work to set up meetings, etc. Senator Toomey is elected to represent the area. He should visit and meet us.
