Shawn Klush, Pittston native who has been named the top elvis Presley tribute artist in the world, will be pitted against other star impersonators in a male vs. female celebrity grudge match on the nationally syndicated Family Feud, beginning on Monday, August 4. The high-stakes game where contestants must guess the most popular answers to survey questions posed to 100 people in order to win big money airs Monday-Friday at 3:00 p.m. on WWOR-TV (Channel 9).
The long list of celebrities who will be impersonated throughout the week includes: Bono, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Angelina Jolie, Howard Stern, Whoopi Goldberg, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Paris Hilton and George W. Bush.
Born Pittston, Lush’s love for music led him to begin imitating his musical idol, Elvis Presley. Shawn has recorded two CDs and performed with Elvis’ closest friends, musicians and singers. He recently portrayed Elvis in the hit TV miniseries “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” which aired on CBS and VH1. His awards include “The Peoples Choice Award” from Gibson Guitar in Nashville as “Best Concert Elvis,” grand champion at the $25,000 “World Elvis Tribute Artist Competition,” international champion of BBC1’s World’s Greatest Elvis competition in the United Kingdom and the “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist” by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis.
“I’m a big fan of Family Feud and it was great to see how it all works behind the scenes,” Klush said. “John O’Hurley was great to work with and I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys to be on a team with. We had a blast together.”
“Shawn is such a talent,” said host John O’Hurley. “I hope he ‘Won’t Be Cruel’ to the other team.”
Will Shawn Klush win big money along with his other celebrity “faux-stars?” Viewers can find out by tuning in beginning Monday, August 4.
Family Feud is hosted by the multiple-talented hyphenate John O’Hurley, whose razor-sharp wit and ultra-suave demeanor have made him one of the busiest men in show business. Best known for his role as “J. Peterman” on Seinfeld which continues to rank as the #1 series in off-network syndication, O’Hurley was voted one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive” before dancing his way into the hearts of America as the ultimate champion of ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars;” starring on Broadway as attorney Billy Flynn in the musical “Chicago;” and currently starring as King Arthur in the hilarious hit musical comedy “Monty Python’s Spamalot” at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
To secure a spot on this popular show, contestant hopefuls can call the show’s hotline in Los Angeles at 323-762-8467 for an interview.
