National Memory Screening Day Nov. 17

Oakwood Terrace Assisted Living’s Trish Slusarczyk, RN, BSN will conduct Memory Screenings through the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America on Tuesday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oakwood Terrace Assisted Living specializing in Memory Care, 400 Gleason Road, Moosic. Reservations are required and screening times are limited. Contact Sylvia at 451-3171 ext. 116 for reservations.

Slusarczyk, Health and Wellness Director at Oakwood Terrace, will conduct the screenings. A memory screening is a simple and safe evaluation tool that checks memory and other thinking skills. Each screening will take approx. 15 minutes.

The face-to-face screening takes place in a private setting – only the individual being test and the screener are present. Results of the memory screenings are confidential, and participants receive the screening results to share with their healthcare professionals. A memory screening is not used to diagnose any particular illness.
