The Women’s Auxiliary, of Post 477, Pittston will hold their monthly meeting today, Sunday, February 7 at 2 p.m. at the post home on Vine Street, Pittston. President Nancy Brogna will preside. The Pittston Women’s Auxiliary meet the first Sunday of each month.
The Dupont Lions Club will hold a meeting Monday Feb. 8 at 6:30 at the VFW on Main St in Dupont. Remember, eye glasses can be drop of at the Dupont Boro Building during regular business hours.
Accounting students in Wilkes University’s Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership will offer free tax assistance to the public through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The service will be offered February 13, 20, and 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in room 105 of Breiseth Hall, 137 South Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program offers free tax help to people with household income of less than $49,000 who file basic federal and state tax returns. Anyone interested in the service should bring the following items to the VITA site:

Pittston Memorial Library has a limited number of openings in its Toddler Time and Story Time programs. Both six-week programs feature age-appropriate stories, activities and free play in our children’s play room.
Toddler Time, open to 18-month– through 3-year-olds and their caregivers, will meet on Wednesdays, Feb. 10, 17, 24, March 3 and 10 at 10 a.m.
Story Time, open to 3– to 5-year-olds and their caregivers, will meet on Wednesdays, Feb. 10, 17, 24, March 3 and 10 at 1 p.m.
Exeter High School Class of 1960 is planning its 50th reunion. The first meeting will be held at Villa Foglia, Exeter on Wednesday, February 10, at 6:30 p.m. Anyone who is interested but cannot attend the meeting may contact Loretta at 654-0936 or Gerri at 693-3338.
Pittston High School Class of 1957 will meet on Wednesday, February 10 at Tony’s Pizza at 7:30 p.m. City Line Plaza, Pittston. All classmates are invited.
James Hessler will be the guest speaker for the Wyoming Valley Civil War Round Table on Thursday, February 11 at 7 p.m. at the Daddow Isaac American Legion, Rt. 415, Dallas.
He will be discussing and signing copies of his new book “Sickles at Gettysburg.”
He is a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park.
His presentation is open to the public.

At this drop-in, do-it-yourself program, children of all ages can make a Valentine craft (while supplies last).
Books & Bagel’s, Pittston Library’s adult book club will meet on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m. to discuss My Antonia by Willa Cather.
Stop by our circulation desk to pick up a reader’s guide and check out a copy of the book.

On Friday February 12, Singing Valentines will be delivered by quartets of the Wilkes-Barre Barbershop Harmony Society from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. complete with songs, card, rose and candy at a cost of $50 per surprise presentation.

The Cosmopolitan Seniors will meet and celebrate Valentines Day with a party on Tuesday February 16, at 1 p.m. in St. Cecilia’s Parish Center, in Exeter.
Dues will continue to be collected.

Wyoming Seminary Upper School will present a special Schoenberg Festival, offering instrumental and vocal music by Arnold Schoenberg, on Saturday, Feb. 20, and Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall of Wyoming Seminary, 228 Wyoming Avenue, just north of Kingston Corners.
Both concerts begin at 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

The Knights of Columbus Assembly # 948 in Pittston will be holding an Afternoon at the Races on Sunday, February 21 at the K of C Council Home, 55 South Main Street in Pittston.
Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. and post time is 2:00 p.m.
Admission is $5.00 per person or free admission with the purchase of a horse.
Sponsor a horse for $10.

St. John’s High Class of ’71 will have a meeting to discuss their upcoming 40th class reunion.
The meeting will be held on Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Tony’s Wine Cellar , in the City Line Plaza in Port Griffith .

A musical theatre workshop is planned for students ages 13 to 18 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes Street, Swoyersville. Tuition: $275. Sessions begin April 27.
