The Scranton Coin Club will conduct its annual Coin Show on Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21 at the Oblates of St. Joseph’s Seminary located at 1880 Highway 315 in Pittston, (off of Exit 175 of Interstate Route 81.) Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free and hourly door prizes will be awarded.
The Knights of Columbus President John F. Kennedy Council 372is holding a homemade haluski sale on Fridays during Lent. Serving take-outs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Council Home located at 55 South Main Street in Pittston. The cost is $3.00 for a 16 oz. container. Phone in your order after 5:00 p.m. to (570) 655-8311.
The Moosic Lions Club will be hosting a Lenten Hoagie and Clam Chowder Sale on Fridays during Lent at the Moosic Youth Center, 600 Main St. The cost for clam chowder is $6 a quart or $3 a pint and tuna hoagies are $4. The sale runs from 11 a.m. till sell out. Advance orders can be placed by calling 575-5565 or 451-1927 or e-mail at jogan44@msn.com. Delivery is available for orders of 8 items or more. Proceeds benefit the Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt as well as other community projects.

The Mozart Club of Wilkes-Barre will meet on Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Church of Christ Uniting, Market and Sprague Streets, Kingston. Following a brief business meeting, Scoil Rince NA Connemara the popular local step dancing and singing group will perform. The event is open to the public, free, refreshments will be served.
The Knights of Columbus, President John F. Kennedy Council372 in Pittston will meet on Monday, March 15, at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. All members are encouraged to attend. Also, join them for reciting the Rosary prior to the Council meetings at 7:40 p.m.
The Family Caregiver Support Group, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties, will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Edwardsville Senior Center, Russell Street, Edwardsville. The Cosmopolitan Seniors will met again on Tuesday March 16, at 1 p.m. at St. Cecelia’s Parish Center, in Exeter. Vic Malinowski will preside. Hosts/Hostesses are: Frank Fountain, Evelyn Kleback, Tony Matreselva, Ann Mattei, and George Mislan.
The Women’s Auxiliary of Post 477, Pittston, meeting dates have changed for March and April. The date for the March meeting has changed from March 7 to March14 at 2p.m., and the April 4 (Easter) meeting is changed to April 11 at 2p.m. at the Post home on Vine Street, Pittston.
Retired Public Employees of Pennsylvania will hold a meeting Thursday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at the Luzerne County Parks and Recreation Building, 2001 Wyoming Avenue located next to the Forty Fort Airport. All former members and members and their spouses are requested to attend. Refreshments will be service. Lucille Maziarz will preside.
The Jenkins Township Class of ’51 "Lunch Bunch" will meet on Thursday, March 18 at Angelo’s Restaurant and Pizza Inc, Midway Plaza, Wyoming Ave., Wyoming at noon. All class members are welcome.
Knights of Columbus President John F. Kennedy Council 372 Home Association is holding a ziti dinner on Saturday, March 20, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Council Home, 55 South Main Street in Pittston. The cost is $8.00 and it is all-you-can-eat. Eat in or take out available.
The Tunkhannock Area Middle School will sponsor a Spring Craft Show on Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a bake sale and refreshments offered.
The March meeting of the Hughestown Sports Club will be held on Sunday, March 21. The meeting will be held at Granteed’s Tavern, 247 Parsonage Street, Hughestown. The meeting will begin at 2:30. Club members are reminded that season ticket payments must be current. A few season tickets are available.
The Polish American Congress of Pennsylvania will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, March 21 in the community room of the Gateway Apartments, Edwardsville. Plans for the Holocaust Massto be held in April at St. Mary of the Maternity Church, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, will be on the agenda. Felicia Perlik will preside.
The City of Pittston in conjunction with the Pittston City Fire Department and the Pittston City Police Department will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny visit on Saturday, March 27 at Jefferson Park, New Street. The event will be held rain or shine. This event is open to children up to 12 years of age and are residents of the City of Pittston. The Easter Bunny will arrive on a fire truck to greet the children at 11 a.m. The children will be treated to a visit with the Easter Bunny who will hand out a treat to the children. Parents will also have an opportunity to take pictures if they wish. Hughestown Hose Company will host their annual Good Friday Fish Dinner at the fire station hall on Friday, April 2. The dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and the last seating will be at 8:30 p.m. This year’s fish dinner will feature fresh fish in our homemade beer batter, fresh-cut French fries, homemade cole slaw and a dinner roll. Homemade pizza will be available for patrons who do not eat fish. Tickets $8 for adults; children 8 and under free.
