Annual summer church tour another success

When David N. Miller’s wife and daughter asked him what he wanted for Father’s Day, he didn’t hesitate with his response. “To go on the church tour of Greater Pittston,” he said.

Father Charles Rokosz welcomes those on the tour to Holy Rosary Church.

And that’s what the Millers did.

They were among 40 or so who visited six churches in Duryea: Brick United Methodist, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Independent Bible, St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic, Holy Rosary and St. Joseph’s on Sunday, June 21.

Atty. Jan Lokuta hosted the fourth annual tour.

Among those addressing the group were David Tighe at Sacred Heart, Holy Rosary and St. Joseph’s, Mrs. Michael Milkanin at St. Mary’s PNCC, Father Charles Rokosz at Holy Rosary and Rec. Michael Shambora at Brick United Methodist.

Parishioner Michael Sowa performed on the organ at St. Joseph’s Church.
