Boy Scout troop 366 selling sand candles

The Boy Scouts of Troop 366 West Wyoming are selling sand candles again this year. They are $4.50 a dozen if anyone is interested in buying any they can come to the West Wyoming Town Hall upstairs on Tuesday’s from 6:30 to 8 p.m. now till Christmas.

Wyoming Library

The Furry Tails Reading Program will meet at the Wyoming Free Library on Saturday, December 19 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Every child that participates that day will receive a present from “Santa’s Helpers”. Parents can call the library for more information (693-1364).

US Census

American Legion

The American Legion Morning Star Post will meet at The W. Wyoming Hose Co. No 1 meeting room on December 10, at 6:30 pm with Commander Rich Yarosavich presiding.

The Legion Post asks any member who has not yet contacted the committee regarding the Christmas party to be held at Agolinos Restaurant on December 13, at 3 p.m. to do so. The deadline is December 10. The committee consistsof Bob Jones, Ron Semanski, George C. Yurek, and Commander Rich Yarosavich.

Hose Co #2

West Wyoming Hose Co #2 will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday December 7 at 7 p.m. at Company Headquarters on Stites Street in the Borough. Election of officers will he held and a report will be given on the Fund Drive which will conclude December 31.

Anyone age 14 or older interested in learning about the Fire Service in encouraged to come and meet the members. Mark Mizzer will preside.

Young Republicans

The Young Republicans of Luzerne County will meet on Monday, December 14, at 7 p.m. at the GOP headquarters 41 S. Main St. (next to Thai Thai). Open to all registered Republicans between the ages of 18-40. For more info call 208-4671.

Toys for Tots

The Luzerne Bank on the corner of Wyoming Ave & 8th Street in Wyoming is now collecting "Toys for Tots" in their lobby. You can bring your donated toys for needed children to that location.

Borough Notes

The 2010 Garbage stickers are on sale now. The Borough Office is temporarily located at the Midway Shopping Center adjacent to Price Chopper. The stickers can be purchased as follows: Yearly,$200,1/2 year $100. Senior Yearly -$190, Seniors 1/2 year -$95Yearly or 1/2 year stickers that are purchased after February 1 will be subject to a $50 penalty. If they are not paid by the end of February, names and addresses will be turned over to the Police and citations will be issued and fines could be as much as $300.00.Any questions, please call 693-0291 and Cheryl DiGiacomo, Borough Manager will be more than glad to help.
