Sanitation stickers are on sale at the West Wyoming Town Hall weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. All residences in West Wyoming must purchase a sticker. The cost of the sticker if purchased from February 1-28, $200. After February 28, the cost will be $300 for the year and citations will be filed with the District Magistrate for noncompliance with the ordinance.
This fee allows residents a weekly three-container collection, weekly recycling, and the curbside yard waste composting and leaf program. Bulk pickup can be arranged on a cost per item bases by calling Waste Management.
Stickers are also available through the mail: West Wyoming Borough Building, 464 West 8th Street, P.O. Box 4035, 464 West 8th Street, West Wyoming PA 18644. For the added convenience of residents, Visa, MasterCard and Mac are accepted.
The Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority is in the process of mailing the West Wyoming Borough Sewer user fees. The borough, in conjunction with WVSA has put into place criteria for delinquent payments. Properties owing in excess of $252 not already having a lien on the property will be notified that a lien will be placed on their property. Properties that are delinquent and have already been liened by the borough will receive a water services termination notice, if they fail to pay their bill. In order to reduce the amount delinquent property owners owe, the borough has set up payment plans. Please contact the borough office at 570-693-1311 for more information if you wish to establish a payment plan.
Available are two West Wyoming Yearbooks for $55 each. These books cover the history of West Wyoming High School from1934 thru 1966. The book consists of Sunday Dispatch articles on school events written by the school correspondent of the year, football and basketball team pictures as well as some game programs. Please call Bob at 570-693-0856 between 9 am and 7 pm if interested. These books will not be reissued.
The West Wyoming Borough’s council meeting will be held on February 8 at 7:30 p.m. Wyoming Seminary students will be on hand to present the findings of a tree inventory that the students conducted in the borough last year.
