The Dupont Lions Club will be sprucing up the Community Park on Saturday, April 4 starting at 9:00 a.m. in preparation of the Lions Club annual Easter Egg Hunt. Lion Mark Kowalchik is heading the project.
If any individuals are interested in volunteering some time please feel free to contract Mark at 603-0591 or Patty McDonald at the municipal office at 655-6216.
The Lions will be serving refreshments throughout the day.
The Dupont Recreation Board meeting is set for Saturday, April 4, at 9:00 a.m. at the Dupont Community Park Pavilion.
The agenda for the meeting includes: set by-laws ad fee schedule for rental of the pavilion; prepare the handicap accessible area for the park as part of the grant through DCNR; prepare bid specs and advertisement and discuss the remaining grant funds.
The date coincides with the Lions Club Community Park Cleanup project and the media event planned for the installation and presentation of the Young Lungs at Play Program. All members are asked to make every effort to attend.
The Theme Basket for the month of April, an Easter Basket, is on display at the Hub One. Tickets are $1.00 each and the Easter Baskets winners will be chosen on April 11.
Proceeds from these fundraisers will help defray the cost for the second annual Party in the Park which is scheduled for Sunday, August 8.
Tickets can also be purchased at the Polish American Citizens Club and at the Borough office. The second of the Theme Baskets-Lottery Basket is now on display at the same locations. Drawing for the Lottery Basket will take place on May 8.
The “Party in the Park” T shirts are on display at the borough office and at the Hub One. They are $10.00 each and are available in red, blue, green and yellow
This month’s meeting of the King’s Kids Program is planned to be a “Swing into Spring” even t on Sunday, March 29 at St. Mary’s Church in Avoca from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The program is for children in grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd from Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont and St Mary’s & St Peter and Paul’s in Avoca.
This month’s meeting will feature plenty of spring themed games. There will be food and drinks for the kids and a coffee table reserved for parents. If you plan on attending, please call Cara Sepcoski at 472-3253.
Birthday greetings are sent to Amanda Rice Bryk who will be celebrating her day on Monday, March 23.
The Dupont Democratics will hold a meeting on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Polish American Citizens Club on Elm Street.

The Dupont Historical Booklet Committee would like to thank residents for their help in collecting photos and information regarding Dupont’s earlier years. The committee is now looking for any photos of the Heidelberg Breaker or the old Laurel Lines.
Residents are asked to bring them to the municipal business office at which time copies will be made and the originals returned to the owner.
Dupont Borough is seeking photos, newspaper articles or any information from the years of 1917 to present.
The Polish American Citizens Club of Elm Street will hold their monthly meeting on Sunday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the club home. All PACC active members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served at the meeting.
Lenten Devotions will be held at Holy Mother of Sorrows Church every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for Stations of the Cross and on Friday for Lamentations at 7:00 p.m. Sacred Heart of Jesus Church will hold Stations of the Cross on Fridays at 7:00 p.m. during the Lenten Season.
The Polish Women’s Alliance, Council 44 will hold their quarterly meeting on Sunday, March 22 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Grande Restaurant, Birney Ave. in Moosic. Dorothy Wisniewski is President of Group 529 and Bertha Kuckla of Group 267.
Journey in the Inter-Parish Lenten Program “Road to Resurrection” will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at Holy Rosary in Duryea beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Senior Outreach Committee will meet on Monday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the church hall. As always new members are welcome.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir will meet on Thursday, March 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 in the church choir loft. All members are urged to attend.
The monthly food distribution sponsored by the Lions Club will be held on Thursday, March 26 at Holy Mother of Sorrows PNCC, Wyoming Ave. from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. All qualifying residents of Dupont and Suscon are eligible.
Reservations are now being accepted for the bulk pick-up program which will take place in May. Pick-ups will take place every Thursday and Friday during May. Please contact the borough office at 655-6216 for scheduling.
Property owners are asked to co-operate in cleaning up their properties and following the borough ordinance.
Dupont’s Public Works Dept has been out patching the roadways on Thursday and Fridays. Please call the borough to report any area in need of attention.
The Avoca A.O.H. will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, March 26 at the West Side Social Club beginning at 8:00 p.m.
