Parish helps needy through Christmas Giving Tree

Our Lady of Sorrows Parish held their Annual Christmas Giving tree program once again this year. Gifts collected from parishioners go to needy children through Catholic Social Services.

The Rev. Michael H. Marchetti is the pastor.

Sodality members helping with the project were Ashley Vikara and Loren Sokirka Gabrielle Alberigi, Allyssa Vikara, Katherine Sokirka, Emily Kneeream and Maria Marianacci.

Sanitation Stickers

Sanitation stickers are now on sale at the Town Hall, weekdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. All residences in West Wyoming must purchase a sticker. The cost remains the same as last year, $200.00. If purchased before January 31, 2010, senior citizens (65 and older) will receive a $25.00 rebate ($175.00), all others receive a $15.00 rebate ($185.00). If purchased from February 1-28, 2010, the full price will be charged, $200.00. After February 28, 2010, the cost will be $300.00 for the year and citations will be filed with the District Magistrate for noncompliance with the Ordinance.

This fee allows residents a weekly three container collection, weekly recycling, and the curbside yard waste composting and leaf program. There will be no bulk item pickup this year. Stickers are also available through the mail: West Wyoming Borough Building, 464 West 8th Street, P.O. Box 4035, 464 West 8th Street, West Wyoming PA 18644. For the added convenience of residents, Visa, MasterCard and Mac are accepted.
