Pasta dinner at Our Lady of Sorrows church today

A pasta dinner, sponsored by the Our Lady of Sorrows Holy Name Society, will be held today from noon to 5 p.m.

Take-outs will be available, bring your own container. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be available after mass and at the door.

Tree Lighting

The Wyoming Recreation Board will host their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 28 at Butler Street Park in Wyoming. Event planning includes a parade down Wyoming Avenue, beginning at 1st St. and ending at Butler Street Park, Christmas carolers, and of course a visit from Santa. More details to follow.

Abrahams Creek

The Abrahams Creek Watershed Association along with Skelly and Loy Engineering will hold a public meeting on November 16 at 7 p.m. in the West Wyoming Borough Hall.

The event will explain the Abrahams Creek Watershed project and allow for public input and discussion of water related problems in the Abrahams Creek Watershed area.

Food Drive

The CCD classes at St Joseph’s and Our Lady of Sorrows Parishes will hold a food drive. Nonperishable food items will be collected.

Collection baskets will be in the back of both churches.

Softball Parents

The Wyoming Area Softball Parents will hold a meeting on Wednesday night, November11, at 7 p.m. at Sabatini’s Pizza in Exeter.

All parents of softball players in grades 7 through 12 are encouraged to attend. Planning for this upcoming season’s events will take place. For any questions, call Drew at 655-8756.

Legion Post 904

The West Wyoming American Legion Post 904 scheduled meeting on November 12 at the W. Wyoming Hose Co No 1 meeting room, 6:30 p.m. with Commander Rich Yarosavich presiding.

The Christmas party scheduled for December 13and menu will be discussed, and selected. Please plan to attend.

Wyoming Rotary

The Wyoming Rotary will hold a Happy Hour Fundraiser on November 13 beginning at 6 p.m. at the famous Ooh Ooh Bird.

The event will feature Prizes, Guest Bartenders, Raffles and Featuring the Drawing for the Great Restaurants of Wyoming Valley Fundraiser Raffle.

Borough Notes

Leaves in the Borough cannot be blown onto the street. Leaves must be bagged in recycle paper bags and left for garbage pick up on the days of yard waste.

The Borough Office and the Tax Collector have now moved to the Midway Shopping Center with the Police Department.

They are located adjacent to Price Chopper.

The telephone number remains the same 693-0291. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Tax Collector is now only in the office on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
