A Quasiquicentennial meeting will be held on Monday, July 6 at 7:30pm at the Exeter Ambulance Building on Lincoln St. Anyone interested in participating in the celebration is asked to please attend the meeting.


Three seventh-grade gifted students from Wyoming Area recently took the SAT college entrance exam through Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth program. Their scores placed them among the top students nationwide in their age group. One of the students, Kevin Carroll, earned the distinction ranking by exceeding the average score for all college bound high school seniors. Front to back are Nicole Cumbo, Courtney Melvin, and Kevin Carroll.
In conjunction with Exeter Borough’s year-long Quasiquicentennial celebration, there will be a borough-wide flea market on July 11.
The flea market will be held rain or shine and you are requested to contact Linda Hyzenski at the Exeter Police Station to make your reservation.
Her number is 654-3001 extension 2.
Your name must be submitted to Linda no later than July 1, so that a map can be made marking the location of participating households.
The Exeter Borough Quasiquicentennial bazaar and the parade will be held on August 9.
The Little Miss Exeter and Little Mr. Exeter Contest will also be held on that day.
The dinner dance will be held on October 27, at a site to be announced. Anyone who is interested in making a monetary donation can send it to the borough building at 1101 Wyoming Avenue, attn: Lynda Hyzenski.
Also, anyone who would like to contribute items for the Chinese Auction to be held at the bazaar, can contact Lynda at 654-3001 Ext 2.
Exeter Borough Council will meet July 7 at 7 p.m. in the borough hall
The Cosmopolitan Seniors next meeting is Tuesday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at St. Cecilia’s parish center in Exeter, at which time a hoagie lunch party will be held, as a belated 4th of July celebration. Vic Malinowski will preside.
Seventy one members and guests attended the previous meeting.
Vice President Joe Kleback led the group in prayer, pledge of allegiance and a patriotic song. Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Terry Mislan and Amy Alpaugh reported the treasury balance. The complete menu was announced for the July 7 hoagie lunch party.
Refreshments were served and Bingo was played. Door prizes were awarded to Mary Ann Barasha, Dolores Bubblo, Mary Ann Markowski, Terry Mislan, and Irene Parini. Frank Schall won the Bingo jackpot.
Cosmopolitan Seniors Trip Coordinator Johanna is accepting reservations for a trip to Mount Airy Casino for Wednesday July 8, as well as a trip to Myrtle Beach on October 4 to 10.
This trip includes transportation, accommodations at a beach front hotel, meals and entertainment including Dixie Stampede.

All trips are open to the public. It is not necessary to be a member to come on trips
The Summer Parish Bazaar will be held on July 17, 18, 19, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. A meeting will be held on Monday, July 6 at 6 pm in the Parish Center.
Everyone is invited to attend.
We are inviting all our Parishioners and friends to make baked goods for our bake sale at the bazaar. Workers are also needed. Call Lisa 883-0693 We need sponsors for our St. Anthony of Padua Bazaar. If you wish to be a sponsor make a donation by calling the Rectory at 654-2103. Forms are at entrance of the Church.
Please, check where you can help and return to the Rectory or in the basket. The Christian Mothers Society will be collecting items for the basket. We need Italian Food Items. Call Lisa at 883-0693 for more information. Bring baskets to the Parish Center. Karen Bernardi and Cynthia Liberski will be there on Thursday, July 9 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Weekend Masses: on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., on Sunday at 7:30 and 10:30 am and at 7 p.m. (the last Mass in the valley). Confessions are heard on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and before Masses (come early). The Holy Rosary will be recited 20 minutes before the weekend Masses to honor our Blessed Mother.
