The ANS of Holy Mother of Sorrows’ PNCC, Wyoming Ave., will hold their annual pork roast dinner on next Sunday, October 11 at the parish hall. Takeouts will be from 11:00 a.m. to noon and dinner served from noon until 2:00 p.m.
The menu will be roasted pork, mashed potatoes, spiced apples, coleslaw and assorted beverages. Tickets are $9.00 and will be available for purchase on the day of the event.
Blessing of the animals will take place today at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church parking lot at 12:30pm. All pets are welcome.
Also today beginning at noon is the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Annual Chicken Dinner. There are a limited number of tickets available at the door. Price per ticket is $7.00.
Justin Renfer, Suscon, and Brenna Satkowski, Dupont, will be representing Wyoming Area Catholic School in the Fall Forensic Competition which will be held on Thursday, October 15 at Holy Redeemer High School.
Justin was chosen to be on the three member varsity team and Brenna won a position on the 4 member junior varsity team. They were among 25 who auditioned to represent Wyoming Area Catholic in the competition. Congratulations and Good Luck to Justin and Brenna.
Mr. James Renfer is the coach of the varsity team and Mrs. Josephine Toomey is coach of the junior varsity team.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Przybytek-Kundlas VFW Post 4909, Dupont will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the post home. One of the topics of discussion will be the chicken dinner. Hostesses will be Evelyn Healey and Catherine Riddle.
The Polish American Citizens Club of Elm Street will hold the regular monthly meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11 at the club home. PCACC Active members are encouraged to attend; refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Dupont Borough will offer scheduled pickups for tires on Friday, October 9. Each municipality has a limit of 250 tires. Residents must contact the borough office for a pickup and are limited to two (2) tires. Anyone having more than two tires can advise the borough office and if room is available those registering additional amounts will be accepted until the truck is filled. Tires eligible include automobile, motorcycle, pickup and SUV.
VFW Post 4909 will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, Oct.5 at 7:30 p.m. at the post home. There are many important issued on the agenda plus numerous reports. All members are asked to attend. The Home Association meeting will follow. Food and refreshments will take after both meetings.
The Women’s Society of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church will meet on Tuesday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the church hall. All members are urged to attend as plans will be finalized for the organizations Installation of Officers which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the 10:30 a.m. service.
The Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart would like to thank the community and parishioners for their support of the organizations recent Ziti Dinner. Over 500 dinners were served making this year’s event a great success.
The Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church will meet on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the church hall. New Members are always welcome.
CCD Classes have begun at Sacred Heart of Jesus with classes held on Monday evenings from 6 to 7. Class schedule for the month of October are: CCD instruction will be held on Monday, Oct 5 and Oct 19. There will be no CCD class on Monday, Oct 12.
Classes begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. The CCD program this year are being held throughout the Parish Campus with grade 1 in the lower level of the convent; Grades 2 through 7 are in the school building and grade 3 is the lower level of the rectory. All students will be dismissed to the courtyard between the church and the school building after classes for parent pickup.

Holy Redeemer High School invites all prospective students and their parents and families to spend the afternoon at Holy Redeemer High School’s Open House on Sunday, November 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tours will be given beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a formal program at 2:30 p.m. with administrators, teachers, coaches, parents and students.

The Annual Christmas Party sponsored by Dupont Borough will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19 at the VFW Post 4909 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reservations are now being accepted. Please contact the municipal office at 655-6216 to make your reservation and for additional information.
The annual Halloween Party sponsored by Dupont Borough will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the pavilion in the park.
